Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s first & largest theme park!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom was unleashed by Disney on April 22, 1998 in Florida, USA. It is the largest and the first theme park built by Disney. It is totally based on animal conservation. It covers an area of around 500 acres and is home to almost 1700 animals with 250 different varieties of species.
Themed Areas
Disney’s animal kingdom consists of the following seven themed areas:
Oasis
It is the main entry of the park and visitors must pass through this region to get into other lands. You will also find a rain forest cafe at its entrance.
Discovery Island
It is the central island and is home to several animals like flamingos, kangaroos, axis deer, vultures, lemurs, Galapagos tortoise, otters, and the list goes on. The major attraction of Discovery Island is ‘The Tree of Life’.
Camp Minnie-Mickey
Here visitors can meet Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and others. Its main attraction is a show named ‘Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends.’
Africa
The main attraction of Africa is Kilimanjaro safaris. Here, visitors can climb aboard an open roof vehicle that will take you to an expedition to see animals like elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions, rhinos and others.
Rafiki’s Planet Watch
This area is accessible only by train and contains only small animals.
Asia
Here, the main attractions are Kali River Rapids, where you prepare yourself to get wet and Maharajah Jungle Trek, where you may have an encounter with Komodo Dragons.
DinoLand, USA
Here, the visitors are mesmerized to see the ancient predator Dinosaurs. It has a musical show named Finding Nemo, which is loved by everyone.
