Sea World Orlando

Sea World: A marine animals-based amusement park

Sea World is an amusement park themed on marine mammals. It is located in United States and has operations across Orlando, San Diego, San Antonio, Florida, Texas, California, and previously Ohio, Aurora. The park attraction includes Sea Lions, Orca, dolphin and other different marine animals.

It was Milton C. Shedd, David Demont, Ken Norris, and George Millay, who brought this amusement park to life. They were graduates from UCLA and originally they thought of building an underwater restaurant. Their concept was not feasible, so they decided to open an amusement park and with this came the first Sea World at San Diego on 21st March, 1964. With 22 acres, few dolphins, some sea lions, and 6 other attractions, it became successful within a period of 12 months and is still growing.

Sea World has a variety of rides namely Kraken, The Great White and Journey to Atlantis. Kraken is just a roller coaster ride whereas Journey to Atlantis is a combination of splashdown ride and roller coaster ride.

However, Orcas are the main attractions at Sea World. Habitats of several of them occupy 7-million gallon space and are popular as Shamu Stadium. Three Sea World parks have 22 orcas. The other main attraction of Sea World is the encounter with shark.

Besides, it has contributed greatly in wild life conservation. Scientists, rescue team, zoologists and trainers of Sea World have participated in many research programs and have helped stranded whales, sea lions, seals and dolphins.

Thus, it can be said without any hint of hesitation that they are entertaining human beings and helping marine animals simultaneously.
